Illusions- Richard Bach

In this blog, I thought I will write down some inspirational comments from the books that I am reading recently. The intention is that if I read the same after some time, I would be able to recollect the joy in reading such books once again.

Currently, I am reading "Illusions- The adventures of a reluctant Messiah" by Richard Bach. It was more or less in the same style as that of "Jonathan Living Stone seagull" by the same author.

Here are the few quotes/dialogue sequences that I liked so far.
1) This is a sentence from the conversation wherin Don(the Messiah) explains Richard that he has a problem, that every body wants him to do miracles for themselves. Richard replies to it by saying, "If your happiness depends on what somebody else does, I guess you do have a problem."

2)In another conversation, Richard tells he is confused that, even in best of his times he do not know why he was here. To which, Don takes him to a movie show, and asks him why he was there. The dialogue sequence that follows, help Richard realise the inherent illusion in which we all live life, and the question Don asks as to why
people choose to watch horror films instead of funny ones.

3) Quotes:
a) Your conscience is the measure of the honesty of your selfishness. Listen to it carefully.

b) If you will practise being fictional for a while, you will understand that fictional charecters are sometimes more real that people with bodies and heartbeats.

c) you are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true. you may have to work for it, however.

d) It feels an impulsion .. this is the place to go now. But the sky knows the reasons and the patterns behind all clouds, and you will know too, when you live yourself high enough to see beyond horizons.

e) The Image is a dream. The beauty is real.
